Camino Day 1

Today was supposed to be 15 miles but my pulled hamstring is calling the shots temporarily, so Paulo drove us out of the busiest part of Porto and we walked ten.

This landed us in the most lovely rural farmhouse you can imagine. “Casa Mindela Farmhouse.” I think we needed it after a day of walking cobblestone roads, hemmed in by stone walls, with speeding trucks coming around blind corners. This wasn’t all of it. Still some beautiful and interesting parts.

Every detail of this dreamy place, including the hosts, made it a little hard to say goodbye. If you needed a good long rest, it would be worth it just to come here and stay.
